FOMA

Foma was formed in Albuquerque, NM in January 2002 by ex Derelectrics' Edward Burch and Jon Gaiser. Along with Heather Trost on Cello and Audrey McEwen on keyboard and vocals, the band made a quick impact on the local music scene.

The band self-recorded, self released and self titled a ten song cd with a lot of help from Alex Rose and from Stepbridge studios. The cd was released when the band opened for Juliana Hatfield on her stop through town. Shortly after, Jon and Audrey departed Albuquerque and the band.

After much shuffling of drummers and female singers, Foma found Ariel Muniz to play bass and sing, and Heath "Testy Kool" Dauberman on Drums. This signified the most creative period with much instrument switching between Heather and Ariel. With the help of Heath's Little Kiss studios, Foma recorded and released the scared ep. With this and a west coast tour under their belt, Foma is confident and plans to continue writing social commentary in the form of music for as many people to hear as possible.

FOMA will start their nation wide tour in early August starting with a run out to the west coast, a little up and down action and then a race across the country to the east coast, all to be wraped up sometime in September, check out their myspace for specific dates. They will be bringing a new release oon tour with them, though what exactly they have been a little quiet about.
